Weaving in Ends
Nora XuCrochet Beginner’s Guide 13
After fastening off the yarn, you will have at least two loose ends (also called “yarn tails”) on the piece you have made. A method to hide and secure the yarn tails is called “weaving in ends.”
1. Thread the loose end through the eye of the needle.
2. Use the needle to bring the loose end through the stitches (usually through the bottom of the stitches).
- While weaving in ends, be mindful not to let the needle go through the other side of the project. Before pulling the yarn through the base of the stitches, turn the project over to make sure you can’t see the needle from the other side.
3. Pull the yarn tail through.
4. For extra security, you can weave in the yarn tail a few more times, in different directions.
5. Cut the extra yarn.
- The place to cut the yarn is close to your project; be careful not to accidentally cut through the stitch.
6. Use the same method to weave in the starting end. You have completed a crocheted piece.
Below is a video tutorial about making an increase.
