Week 1: Mood Tracker Strips
Craft type: Crochet
Yarn: Any type, 3 or 6 colors
Tool: Crochet hook with size matching your yarn
Stitches used: Chain Stitch and Single Crochet Stitch
Others: A blank piece of paper and a pair of scissors
Tutorials of techniques used in this project:
If you already know how to crochet chain stitches and single crochet stitches, this mini craft project takes a couple of minutes a day to track your mood. At the end of the week, you will have a mood tracker strip that reflects your feelings from that week and a small desktop décor piece that carries your story. I used mine as a display mat for my maneki-neko (招き猫) collection.
Week 2: Stitching the Sun
Craft type: Embroidery
Thread: Embroidery floss in the color you like
Tool: Embroidery needle, 3-inch embroidery hoop, and heat erasable pen
* The pattern will be released with the tutorial.
Stitches used: Running Stitch and Double Running Stitch
Tutorials (coming soon) of techniques used in this project:
- How to set up the hoop and get ready to embroider
- How to embroider a running stitch and a double running stitch
Whether you have prior embroidery experience or not, this project takes under 40 minutes to stitch. You will have a cute and delicate motif in one night. If you like what you’ve stitched, you can stitch again on a T-shirt to add a personal touch to your garment. Another night with intentional creative time!
Week 3: Bow Bookmark
Craft type: Crochet
Yarn: Any type in any color
Tool: Crochet hook with size matching your yarn
Stitches used: Chain Stitch
Others: One bead, one yarn needle, and scissors
Tutorials of techniques used in this project:
If you know how to crochet only chain stitches, you can still crochet something — this bow bookmark for example! The project takes 5–10 minutes, and you’ll have a cute accessory to accompany your reading time.
